We use the highest quality wood strippers that maintain the integrity of the grain, and do not stain or darken the wood at all.

With new unfinished cabinets, doors, windows, or other woodwork, we first sand to remove scratches, scuffs, and sharp rough edges. We then stain and seal with a poly sanding sealer. After sealing, all holes are puttied and the wood is fine sanded prior to applying two coats of polyurethane varnish for a durable wood finish.

With previously painted woodwork, we wash all surfaces clean. The woodwork is sanded to rough up old finish prior to applying an enamel paint for a fine finish.

Painting over previously varnished woodwork is a little trickier because varnish is a very hard surface. The woodwork is prepared much like painted woodwork. After sanding, the woodwork is washed with a solvent and primed with a bonding primer before applying the finish coats.
